
| Matt Connolly grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. Ever since 6 years of age Matt wanted to be a professional race car driver. Racing has been an all encompassing lifestyle ever since. He got his first taste of racing when he was only 13 years old, when he began motorcycle racing. Later he moved to open wheel Formula-V at age 21. At age 22 Matt attended the Elf-Winfield ecole de pilotage in France. He was invited back to compete in their finals that year and was able to place in the top 10% of drivers out of over 200 entries even with having mechanical issues. At 23, Matt won his first championship in SCCA Formula Continental. He would later race in pro F2000 and then Formula Atlantic. 2000 was the year he made a debut racing production cars. One year later he won the team championship in ST1 in the new Grand-Am Cup Series. Matt made his GT Rolex career debut in 2005 driving for the factory BMW team PTG. In 2007 he drove the Pontiac Chase Daytona Prototype at Watkin’s Glen and Miller Motorsport Park. Matt continues to reside in Bethlehem Pennsylvania and is the driving force behind Matt Connolly Motorsports. He is also running for state senate in the 18th district. | ![]() |
